For tank owners

Find out what is in your tank before you drain it.

Most owners are asked to approve a shutdown in order to discover whether a shutdown is needed. An in-service inspection answers the question first, while the tank stays full and available.

The situation

Deciding in the dark is the expensive part.

Sediment accumulates slowly and invisibly. By the time it is costing you usable capacity, affecting pump performance or putting product quality in question, the only way to confirm it has traditionally been to take the asset out of service — which is the very thing you are trying to decide about.

An inspection carried out while the tank is in service turns that around. You get the evidence first, then decide what the work should be, and what it is worth.

What an inspection gives you

Three things you can act on.

The condition of the floor

Recorded camera survey of the floor, walls, columns and internal fittings, with anomalies logged where they are found — whatever the tank holds.

How much sediment, and where

An acoustic profile of the sediment gives depth and distribution across the floor, so the volume is measured rather than estimated.

A specification you can tender

Findings you can put in front of your own maintenance contractor, or use to compare offers on equal terms.

The tank stays full and in service throughout. Everything above is obtained from outside, with the asset working normally.

How it happens

Three routes, and you choose.

Paragonix Tek builds the robotic systems and supports the companies that operate them. The cleaning and maintenance work is always carried out by a maintenance company — ours, or yours.

  1. 01

We carry out the initial inspection

A light inspection to establish what is in the tank and what condition it is in — enough to specify the work, and yours to use however you choose.

  2. 02

    We introduce a maintenance company

Where a company operating our equipment is well placed for your site, we put you in touch. The work, the contract and the relationship are then theirs and yours.

  3. 03

    You introduce your own

If you already have a maintenance contractor, they can be trained and equipped to do this work themselves — or we support them on the first job.

How we help

We supply the technology and help you solve the problem.

We help you establish what is in the tank, what condition it is in, and what the work ought to be. The maintenance itself is delivered by a maintenance company — your own, or one operating our equipment — with our engineering support behind them.

That arrangement works in your favour. The findings are yours to take wherever you like, and the contractors who already serve you keep serving you.

Request an inspection.

Tell us the tank type, roughly how big it is, the access opening and where it is. We will tell you whether an in-service inspection is the right answer — and if it is not, we will say so.
